Zero Questions From Newspeople

June 24, 2025 KOMO News
The post 911 surveillance state (fusion centers, license scanners, Homeland Security grant money, monitoring of e-mails, text messages, & social media sites, no fly/terror watch lists, tracking of cell phones, best advances in REAL ID and AI technologies, etc.) appears to have played no role in preventing these crimes:
Standard driver’s licenses have not been accepted at border crossings and ports of entry since 2009. What got better? Any questions from newspeople?
Out at the airport, real newspeople may ask:
What keeps the terrorists of the GWOT from creating a disruption at the back end of the airport security screening line?
Guaranteed: No TV newsperson anywhere will ever ask this question. Americans do not live in a free and honest society.
Imagine the TV newsperson, on camera, escorting the TSA official all the way to the back of the “be sure to arrive early line” and asking what keeps the bad guys from creating a disruption at that point.
The mainstream media functions like paid actors reading a script.
Over and again- Newspeople play the role of federal public affairs staff instead of asking questions.
Every year is the same. Similar cheerful video, no mater where you are in the USA.
No voices of dissent. No passengers with questions about security theater will ever make it on air.

Security At Washington State Ferry Terminals
A state-run media report from June, 2012-
This video tells us that security personal are on site every day-at 2:56
Maybe security personnel are present at some specific terminal each day. Dozens of round trip crossings from various terminals indicate that in many cases-no security screening takes place prior to boarding ferries.
Washington State ferry passengers are advised via PA system not to leave backpacks or packages unattended during ferry crossings.
Meanwhile-on the car deck-cars, trucks, vans, commercial vehicles, etc. are left unattended during ferry crossings.
I have made dozens of round trip ferry crossings over the past 20 years. In many cases, there has been no security screening at either terminal.
It feels like a society where honest and meaningful ideas stand up to questioning and discussion, but the questioning and discussion rarely takes place.

Sorry, no time for newspeople to ask what sort of drugs were involved here.
What part of the drug war is working? What part is failing?
What can people learn from this in order to keep themselves safe?
Love to see newspeople asking questions.
What we get now is sort of a press release style of news reporting where a statement is prepared by whatever agency was involved in the latest policy update, drug bust/federal grant money award, etc.
Newspeople post this statement as is. A 5th grade book report would require more in the way of asking questions.

If you are on the Kristi Noem team, you are out kicking ass.
If you are part of a local drug task force, or narcotics enforcement team, you are advertising the latest big drug bust after cartel product is able to move past the jurisdiction of federal agents at borders, border crossings and ports of entry and a barrier of DOD ground units, US Navy and US Coast Guard vessels prior to arriving in Hometown, USA.
If you are part of a local health dept. you are handing out Naloxone as always, to deal with the stuff that doesn’t get reported in the big local drug bust.

If special games require special security-what keeps regular games safe? Crowd size/capacity is similar at several stadiums.
Are fans less safe at regular games?
What prevents terror strikes at hundreds of events & locations unsupervised by federal authorities?
What stops terrorists from going 2 states over and driving a truck across the playground at a daycare center?

“We’re going above and beyond what we’ve seen in the past when we’ve hosted previously,” Mayor LaToya Cantrell said at a news conference. “We know we’re safer than we’ve ever been before.”
“Multiple lawsuits have claimed city authorities were aware of Bourbon Street’s vulnerabilities to the kind of truck-ramming attack that the Islamic State group-inspired Shamsud-Din Jabbar carried out. He drove his F-150 around a police car parked as a makeshift barricade and plowed into pedestrians before he crashed and was killed by police.”
“Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry announced the creation of an “enhanced security zone” along Bourbon Street to bookend Super Bowl weekend and said he would deploy 350 national guardsmen.”
Various levels of government cave in on themselves at a New Orleans press conference after the Jan 1 event.
The Governor spoke. He said he was placing flags at half mast. He said he was sending the National Guard at 36:40 in the video below:
Real newspeople may ask:
Looks like the National Guard going in is part of reaction mode. The National Guard has people who have done one or more tours in Iraq or Afghanistan. Rather than use them in reaction mode, why not send them in prior to the Jan 1st event to do a quality control check on whatever security was in place at the time. What good are lessons learned in the GWOT if they are not put to use?

Where was the threat forecast prior to the April 12, 2022 NYC subway shooting? Look for newspeople to avoid asking questions in this area.
“As people kept to their homes, investigators and search teams made clear early in the day that they were settling into an expansive evidence gathering and manhunt operation that included hundreds of law enforcement personnel from across the country.”
Wondering if things will get to a place where the many LE personnel will be used to supervise/keep grocery stores and gas stations open. Will they ask for volunteers to do shopping so the mom with small children or the little old lady on the other side of town is able to get what she needs?
People who initiate violence towards others should be prosecuted to the fullest extent.
From 2015:
Every so often, a massive manhunt is launched to track down an individual or small group of people who have committed violent felony crimes involving police officers or others:
Seems like the badass terrorists we are supposed to stay scared of could do their thing in 6 or 8 states at the same time- and they would tie up thousands of law enforcement personnel if they then fled into the woods.
In the War on Terror we are told that the good guys are able to stop the bad guys in the early stages of planning:
If the good guys can tell what the bad guys will do before they do it- surely, these powerful crime fighting tools will be used to shut down gang and cartel activity, heroin trafficking, bank robberies, child abduction, etc.
Why would there be any need for massive manhunts if the bad guys could be stopped before they act on their violent plans?
Many interesting comments are posted with the videos above.

My response:
With my GF in Kingston. Had already done some time in uniform. Took me several years to become skeptical and see that the federal government and the press had lost credibility.
Today:
My feeling is that a man on the moon in 1969 was a proud American moment. That was maybe the best of America in my lifetime.
“What I remember most about 9/11 is the way America was unified the day after. During uncontrollable times we controlled our response. Race, Gender and Political Party were equally irrelevant.”
“We focused on loving each other, how did we get so segregated? We never would have made it this far if we embraced division on September the 12th. We are where we are because we got here TOGETHER let’s embrace love yet again.”
“God Bless The USA.”
My response:
Good Stuff
Let’s keep that and add a free and independent press that will ask questions/rock the boat, no matter who is in office.

“What goes on at airports is not security. It is Security Theater. When the government’s own agents try to smuggle “weapons” aboard airliners to test the system, they succeed ninety-five percent of the time.”
“Further, a terrorist doesn’t need to get aboard an airliner to blow up spectacularly. At many airports, hundreds of people line up at ticket counters during peak hours. A carry-on bag of explosive would easily create enough slaughter to shut down air travel and to make international headlines for weeks.”

What role did a post 911 surveillance state (fusion centers, license scanners, Homeland Security grant money, monitoring of e-mails, text messages, & social media sites, no fly/terror watch lists, Real ID, tracking of cell phones, etc.) play in preventing the April 12, 2022 NYC subway shooting?
