DSC_0061 Welcome Home Troops

Thanks for your many years of service in Iraq & Afghanistan- working to keep bad people from coming here to do bad things.

Tried to have your back with strict post-911 security protocols, a $40.6 billion US Dept. of Homeland Security, federal agents at border crossings & ports of entry & passports/enhanced & Real IDs to keep us all safe.

We’ll try harder next time.

Heroin-trafficking cartel moves product into North Carolina:

Deputies: Largest heroin bust in Rowan Co. has ties to Mexican cartel

Wonder what was happening at border crossing inspections during the 3 years these folks were under investigation. Do the good guys who made the local bust notify the good guys at the border about the weak links in their process?

Were federal authorities at the border notified of this ongoing investigation?

Statewide investigation leads to bust of Mexican heroin ring

“A 3-year-long federal, state and local heroin trafficking investigation ended this week with the arrests of three Mecklenburg County residents.”

DHS federal agents unable to keep $3.3 million in heroin from rolling up into Philadelphia:

Joint Investigation Leads To Major Drug Bust In Philadelphia

8 pounds of heroin moves past a $41.2 billion US Dept. of Homeland Security and into Maine:

8 pounds of heroin seized in Sanford in state’s largest heroin bust in history

Ohio-

“Overdoses are coming in all the time and we’re constantly full on a day-to-day basis,” Harshbarger told CNN.

The accidental overdoses are from heroin and fentanyl, he said:

Coroner’s office running out of room because of overdose deaths

9 kilo’s of cocaine move past a $41.2 billion US Dept. of Homeland Security and into Will County:

Major Cocaine Arrest In Will County

A $41.2 billion US Dept. of Homeland Security fails to keep cargo trucks from moving large amounts of heroin and fentanyl from Central America into the Bronx:

Cops: NYC drug ring brought heroin, fentanyl from Honduras

Don’t worry-

The Super Bowl and public affairs will be safe:

‘No known credible threats ’ ahead of Super Bowl, officials say

If the good guys can tell what the bad guys will do before they do it- surely, these powerful crime fighting tools will be used to shut down gang and cartel activity, heroin trafficking, bank robberies, airport & mall shootings, child abduction, etc.

State-run media update:

US Department of Homeland Security-

“…a department with more than 20 different agencies, a budget of more than $45 billion and a staff of hundreds of thousands of civilian, law enforcement and military personnel.”

“Another element is a flood of high-potency heroin pouring in from Mexican cartels.”

U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer calls for greater rural access to opioid overdose antidote

“…Clallam County’s opioid overdose death rate is nearly twice the state average…”

“While opioid use has no boundaries, limited public transportation, a lack of treatment facilities and long distances between health care providers can make it difficult for those who live in rural communities to access necessary drug treatment,” Kilmer wrote in his letter.”

Limited public transportation does not seem to slow down the folks who move heroin across US borders and into local communities.

Congressman Kilmer,

Please update us on what the US Border Patrol is doing to keep heroin away from the Olympic Peninsula.

This is one of the very few articles I have seen that says the reason we aren’t seeing more terror strikes inside the US- is because the terrorists aren’t trying very hard.

I have wondered for years-

What prevents the badass terrorists we are supposed to stay scared of from blowing themselves up in a crowded airport just short of the screening checkpoint?

“Johnson is expected to talk about Homeland Security’s plans to protect the players and fans that includes using members of the Air National Guard here in Southern Arizona to protect the air space during the big game.”

“New Oreleans prime target for terrorists”

And-

“…no specific or credible reporting on any threats at this time.”

1,300 federal agents.

2012-

“The federal government’s ring of security includes 35 agencies and extends from the airport to Lucas Oil Stadium, the secretary said.

Air marshals, canines sniffing for explosives, and inspectors scouring delivery trucks at the stadium are part of the security force, she said.”

35 federal agencies?

It doesn’t matter what the situation is each year- The Super Bowl is the site of something like a Homeland Security Industrial Complex trade show for DHS employees, contractors, surveillance gear manufacturers, SWAT teams, etc.

Show of hands- how many smaller government folks are OK with having the Department of Homeland Security around to act as a federal reserve force for local law enforcement agencies or the entertainment industry?

“Nothing in the Constitution gives the federal government authority over ordinary crimes. In America, crime fighting is the responsibility of state and local government. But despite the lack of constitutional authorization, federal policymakers continually try to involve themselves in crime fighting.”
