Oak Bay is a body of water near where I lived in Jefferson County, WA. It’s a great spot for clams, beach walks and low tide days. Port Hadlock is nearby.

What is here is for those ready to take a break from the social media/emoji version of the internet.

On occasion, I get away from news and politics. Less is better.

I live in the US, but I don’t feel very connected with American culture. Viewing social media or ads on TV confirms this.

It feels like a society where honest and meaningful ideas stand up to questioning and discussion, but the questioning and discussion rarely takes place.

Both major parties have taken turns in power over the past 40 years or so. For sure, there is a chunk of public policy that has become worse, not better. I think I touched bottom with news and politics a while back.

Voting is highly emphasized in American culture. Newspeople asking questions related to public policy takes a lower priority.

Years ago, I began to think of the mainstream media as Information Suppression Specialists because newspeople had stopped asking questions related to public policy.
