Love to see a reporter ask how the wars since 911 have made the homeland more secure.

Love to see a reporter ask how cash spent on the surveillance state (fusion centers, war on terror crime fighting tactics, license plate scanners, Homeland Security grant money, monitoring of e-mails, text messages, and social media sites, tracking of cell phones, use of drones, etc.) will prevent domestic terror strikes.

“This is nothing new for us,” Defense Department spokesman Col. Steve Warren told reporters. “The department has long been aware and mindful of the potential for homegrown extremism, and we have continued to encourage and to advise all of our personnel to exercise the maximum amount of vigilance.”
