A huge part of this seemed to be network newspeople playing the role of federal and Boston PD public affairs personnel while they promoted the script they were handed.

The message: Stop asking questions. Wait for further instructions.

Oddities?

More than 400 soldiers were on site for routine purposes. Many people see this as a good thing.

Disregard all photos not released at an official press conference. Just watch TV and you’ll know what to think. Step away from these instructions and you may be labeled as a conspiracy theorist.

Asking for clarification/better info is not the same as offering up any sort of conspiracy theory.

Safety exception for Miranda warning?

Here is what the PD said about public safety:

“CAPTURED!!! The hunt is over. The search is done. The terror is over. And justice has won. Suspect in custody,”
