Oak Harbor maps out ‘stay out of designated area’

The ordinance allows judges to ban some people convicted of drug crimes from certain zones.

“The idea of creating the designated area was in response to community and business owners’ concerns after police documented an increase in illegal drug activity in the business district on the south side of the city, said Chief of Police Tony Slowik.”

Looks like Kristi Noem’s giant and expensive US Dept. of Homeland Security, the 2025 Vietnam-style drug boat body count, and massing US Border Patrol agents at the southern edge of the Strait of Juan de Fuca fail to keep drugs from arriving in Oak Harbor.

Love to see newspeople ask:

Has the Island County Homeland Security-funded patrol boat been involved in any arrest or seizure related in any way to the US/Canada border?

Federal grant money goes to “…gain a better grasp on cross border activity and to prevent illegal crossings.”

When is the last time the Island County Homeland Security-funded patrol boat made any seizure that kept any amount of fentanyl, heroin or any opioid from entering Island County?

Kristi Noem is sealing off the border. Any day now, cartel drugs will no longer be available anywhere in WA.

People will no longer need cash to support a drug habit. There will be no more need to steal, and we can all go back to how things were in the last century.

Back to a time before the US Dept. of Homeland Security was established in 2002. This giant federal agency now has more than two decades of experience and lessons learned in working to prevent cartel product from entering the US. More overdose deaths now, or before DHS?

We’re not impressed.
