Both major political parties are good with big US Dept. of Homeland Security spending.
The rare voice of dissent:
Cartel Drugs
Federal and local agencies are quick to advertise when they make a big drug bust. For federal agencies these drug seizures may happen inside or outside of the US.
For local agencies (any local drug task force, or narcotics enforcement team) these drug busts involve cartel product not stopped at the border by Kristi Noem or eliminated by ongoing 2025 Vietnam-style drug boat body count ops.
Federal agencies are quick to brag about how many tons of product have been seized in recent years or months. The press plays along by posting press releases created by these agencies.
The Press Is Weak
Are newspeople forbidden to ask questions related to Homeland Security funding and performance?
Newspeople avoid asking:
Have large drug seizures inside or outside the US caused Seattle area drug addicts to have any problem finding their cartel product of choice?
Has any community anywhere in the US downsized or shut down any local drug task force, or narcotics enforcement team due to the success of Dept. of War strikes on narcoterrorist drug boats?
Is the Seattle fentanyl supply any different today than under Biden?
Is the fentanyl supply anywhere in the US different today because cartels have been designated as terrorist organizations?
Have opioid lawsuits played any role in improving the situation?
How do cartels react to opioid lawsuits?
Welcome Home Troops
Common flashlight batteries are now locked up like diamond jewelry:

Kristi Noem is sealing off the border. Any day now, cartel drugs will no longer be available anywhere in WA.
People will no longer need cash to support a drug habit. There will be no more need to steal, and we can all go back to how things were in the last century.
Back to a time before the US Dept. of Homeland Security was established in 2002. This giant federal agency now has more than two decades of experience and lessons learned in working to prevent cartel product from entering the US. More overdose deaths now, or before DHS?
We’re not impressed.
Credibility squandered, enthusiasm dried up.
