Which Way Forward for America?

“… the Founders formed a government with limited powers — ones that were expressly enumerated in the Constitution. That is, if a power wasn’t enumerated, it simply could not be legally exercised.”
“That’s what the Bill of Rights was all about. It was designed to send a message to government officials: Do not use your powers to destroy or infringe our rights.”
“The Ninth Amendment emphasized that people’s rights were not limited to those mentioned in the Constitution.”
“The federal government was given the power to coin money. It was not given the power to emit “bills of credit,” which was the term used at that time for paper money. Therefore, the federal government could not establish a monetary system based on paper money.”
“…the Constitution established gold coins and silver coins as the official money of the United States. It was a system that not only brought the soundest money in history into existence but was also a prime factor in the economic miracle that America experienced into the nineteenth century.”
“…Americans were showing the world the fantastic economic results of a “free enterprise” system — that is, a system in which economic enterprises were free of government control and regulation. With every economic exchange, people’s standard of living would rise. That’s because in every trade, people were giving up something they valued less for something they valued more. Thus, with the mere act of trade, people’s economic well-being was soaring.”
“When people were free to accumulate unlimited amounts of wealth, they used large portions of their health to benefit mankind — and not to get an income-tax deduction, because there was no income tax. This was how the hospitals, churches, museums, opera houses, and libraries got built. At the same time, there were so many organizations voluntarily formed to help others that it was impossible to keep track of them all.”
“The income tax and the Federal Reserve System came into existence in 1913.”
“…followed in the 1960s by the adoption of Medicare and Medicaid, which succeeded in destroying what had been the finest health-care system in the world and hurling America into a perpetual health-care crisis.”
“Without even the semblance of a constitutional amendment, the FDR regime abandoned the gold-coin, silver-coin standard that had been in existence for more than 100 years. FDR nationalized gold and made it a felony offense to own it. America’s monetary system was converted to paper money, a system that the Framers had rejected.”
“…the national-security state has produced an endless stream of wars and conflicts, some of which may push America toward all-out nuclear war with Russia and China.”

“The real crisis in America has nothing to do with climate, capitalism, cattle, coal, or combustion. The real crisis in America has everything to do with the monstrosity known as the federal government.”
“The invasive and intrusive federal government now gets away with justifying all manner of tyranny in the name of “public health,” “national security,” “national emergency,” “existential threats,” or “equality.” Government powers have been expanded at the expense of individual freedom.”
“…the duties of the Department of Defense should be strictly limited to defense of the United States; that is, no more foreign wars, military alliances, overseas military bases, and troops stationed overseas.”
Will America support another draft?
Last time there was a draft, children were raised by the WWII generation, in families where Mom and Dad were married to each other.
Both major US political parties may be forced to downsize their ambitions for various overseas military operations. Things are slow over at the recruiting office.
Some may say it is time to bring back a draft.
They tried that during the Vietnam War. They found out they had to stop.
A Draft? – DOD Brand Has Been Wrecked
Breaking Point Will Come At The US Armed Forces Recruiting Office
Prediction:
The breaking point will come at the US Armed Forces recruiting office.
There is no WWII generation to encourage new enlistments like there was back in the Cold War era of the 1980s.
Decades of undeclared/unwon DOD wars is now the norm. Look and see if the new military aid package creates any wave of enthusiasm to sign up.
Freedom
The All Volunteer Force era has been a time to tell the American people that US troops are sent to distant lands to defend American freedoms. This urban legend has run its course. People have seen enough now to know this is no more than a marketing strategy. Uniparty newspeople play along by not asking questions:
The US should maintain strong and ready military forces.
In some cases, the US Armed Forces provide for our security. That’s as good as it gets.
In terms of American rights and freedoms- The Dept. of Defense has no more say than the Dept. of Agriculture.
The country struggles with:
If The Troops defend our freedoms, should we ask the Joint Chiefs of Staff to bring back the Free Enterprise System?

Biden honors Americans who ‘stood on the front lines of freedom’ in Veterans Day remarks
Sorry, no newspeople available to ask:
Mr President,
Going back to the 1990 Operation Desert Shield,
How would American freedoms today be any different if US troops were never sent to Iraq?
Uncle Sam is having a hell of a time finding people to sign up for the US Armed Forces. Pretending that decades of undeclared/unwon wars are linked in any way with American freedoms is the kind of dishonesty that will snuff out the energy American families once had for encouraging young people to enlist.
Good luck with your US Armed Forces recruiting crisis.
Like A Giant Civil Rights Organization?
Acting Secretary of Defense:
“The Department of Defense continues to be one of our nation’s bedrock institutions,” Shanahan said, and “our foundational strength lies in the remarkable men and women who volunteer to serve our country and protect our freedoms, while making immense personal sacrifice.”
As the decades of undeclared/unwon wars stack up (The Department of Defense track record goes back to 1949.) the greater the cultural urge to glorify people who do, or did time in uniform.
Protect Our Freedoms?
One of the nation’s largest, oldest and most respected veterans organizations tells us: Veterans, not politicians, ‘give us the right to vote,’ observers at Amherst Veterans Day ceremonies told
Veterans give rights?
It turns out The Troops were in no hurry to enable all adults to act on their right to vote.
US Military operations conducted in the 1940s, 50s & 60s didn’t get the job done.
It wasn’t until July of 1971 that 18 year old adults could take delivery on one of the freedoms we hear so much about.
Hey school teachers–
If veterans fought for our right to vote- how come women were not allowed full voting rights at the end of WWI?
Why the need for a 1965 Voting Rights Act if overseas military operations somehow secured voting rights?
American Freedoms Come And Go
Legal marijuana, concealed carry of handguns, semi automatic rifle sales, federal minimum drinking age, sports betting, standard magazine ban, voting rights, bump stock ban, interracial marriage, gay marriage, tobacco sales, open container laws, etc.
None of these are linked in any way with The Joint Chiefs of Staff, The Troops, The Dept. of Defense or the outcome of military operations overseas.
20 years of big US Dept. of Homeland Security spending. More cartel product in Hometown, USA than ever before?

Thanks for doing time/risking your ass in Iraq and Afghanistan, working to keep a post 911 USA safe & secure.
Don’t worry-The Super Bowl and public affairs will be safe:
Newspeople avoid these questions:
Would the DEA be out of work if a $51.6 billion (every 12 months) US Dept. of Homeland Security was able to keep cartel product from showing up in all 50 states?
Have opioid lawsuits played any role in improving the situation?
How do cartels react to opioid lawsuits?
Has local CBP created any shortage of cartel product in the Puget Sound area?
Do July 4th celebrations make sense any longer?
