In the weeks ahead, I am planning to leave WordPress. I am not sure where I will go to start a new blog/continue this one.
Loss of the classic editor/forcing the new and complex block editor is the reason for the move.
WordPress will say that you may still use the classic editor by installing a plugin. Your Premium Account will not allow the use of plugins. You must upgrade to a Business account for $300 a year in order to install plugins.
No thanks.

Excellent post here from J. ERIC SMITH:
Dear WordPress: Your New Editor is Terrible

I feel your pain, having been using WP for ~14 years, and hoping that I too don’t have to find a new home to get around changes made for no discernible reasons. See . . . https://jericsmith.com/2020/10/05/dear-wordpress-your-new-editor-is-terrible/
Eric,
Thanks for your comment and your excellent Blog post. I have added it to the page above.
Not happy with the look of that page, but that’s what this post is all about.
Big screen user here. The blog is just a hobby. Everything seemed to work well 10 days ago.
Too much confusion, loose ends, missing dots in the world. As in connect the dots. Frustrating

People have been using internet at home for more than 20 years now.
I am OK with changes that make things faster, easier and more simple to use.
OK with other changes too, but prefer to allow people to opt in or out on those changes.
