dsc_0038-copyPeople who make violent clown threats should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Ditto for anyone who uses a laser to interfere in any way with aviation operations.

The post-911 surveillance state (fusion centers, war on terror crime fighting tactics, license plate scanners, Homeland Security grant money, monitoring of e-mails, text messages, and social media sites, no fly/terror watch lists, Real ID, tracking of cell phones, use of drones, etc.) appears to have played no role in preventing the crimes described below.

“Laser pointers can cause great danger to the aircrew due to glare, afterimage, flash blindness or temporary loss of night vision. If a laser is shined in the eyes of an aircrew member, Coast Guard flight rules dictate that the aircraft must abort its mission.”
