Whatever happened to keeping cartel drugs from entering the US?

Cartel drug busts taking place inside the US involve product not stopped at the border by the giant and expensive US Dept. of Homeland Security.

 

Louisville, Kentucky

A series of raids in Louisville resulted in the seizure of 70 pounds of meth and enough fentanyl to kill 1,200 people.”

 

Palatka, Florida

“During the search, authorities seized 138 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 28 grams of suspected fentanyl, 34 grams of crack cocaine, 132 grams of powder cocaine and other controlled substances including ecstasy and marijuana.”

“In total, the operation uncovered more than 600 grams of narcotics, indicating a large-scale drug trafficking operation.”

Will Chicago DEA be shut down when cartel drugs stop entering the US? Have recent US Dept. of Homeland Security efforts reduced the need for Chicago DEA services?
