It’s been 41 years. What has changed?
We had Lowenbrau beer and several others that are now gone.
We had various restaurant chains and fast food places that are now gone.
Malls were up and running.
More radio stations that hired real people to play music.
We had less wars and less controversy.
Halloween was more normal.
Daytime access to state parks with no fee required.
The WWII Generation was in charge.
No internet.
No cell phones.
No social media.
VHS tapes.
Video stores- big chains and Mom & Pops.
Grocery shopping bags available at checkout were less restricted.
Traffic laws and safety seemed to be better enforced.
Less ads on TV for meds with gruesome side effects.
Politics seemed to be more on the back burner.
No 911.
No Dept. of Homeland Security.
Less cartel drug overdoses.
There was no Armed Forces recruiting crisis.
Less gunfire in Seattle.
Less arson in Seattle.
Less homeless drug addicts camping on the sidewalk in Seattle.
Starting out at minimum wage was not a big deal.
Paying to pump a tank of gas was not a big deal.
Renting an apartment was not a big deal.
Some cool cars were still on the road.
Compact pickup trucks were popular. They were made by many manufacturers. It was legal to go and buy a new one.
The gas can for your lawn mower was simple and easy to use. It was legal to go and buy a new one.
