I was never in a war.

I think recognition should go to those who are war veterans and those who did time in uniform after 911.

“Thanks for your service” conversations are awkward for me.

These days, I tend to avoid wardrobe accessories, bumper stickers, etc. that ID me as a person who did time in uniform.
