National Guard – Newspeople post whatever press release is handed off

During the Vietnam War, US troops were sent to Vietnam.

Today, the Ohio National Guard is sent to “support Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve.”

Life wasn’t meant to change after the Saddam Hussein & Osama bin Laden takedowns

Newspeople post whatever press release is handed off.

A 5th grade book report would require more in the way of asking questions.

Will there ever come a time when newspeople ask if there is any military emergency, national emergency, draft, or declaration of war, linked to the movement of National Guard troops to an overseas location?

“When Barack Obama took over as president in 2009, the global war on terror, or GWOT, just didn’t seem to fit the tenor of his “hope” and “change” message. So wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were rebranded as “overseas contingency operations.” Talk about the banality of evil! Even Orwell’s Big Brother might be impressed by OCOs as a substitute for invasion and war.”

The press is also good for telling everybody to get out and vote.

People could do a better job of voting if they were better informed.

Newspapers are suppressing online comment sections, getting away from asking questions related to public policy and telling us they need more support from subscription and advertising sales.
