WATCH: Trump holds ‘Celebration of America’ event after withdrawing invite to Philadelphia Eagles

The military is overemphasized in American culture.

The Dept. of Defense was nowhere to be found on 911. We haven’t won a war since.

We’re told to thank The Troops for defending American rights and freedoms in Iraq & Afghanistan.

Undeclared/unwon wars that never end?

The purpose is to protect our freedoms:

We are living in a land of make believe.

In the coming weeks we’ll have a big celebration of freedom & independence based on the founding of this country.

Jacob G. Hornberger reminds us that the people who founded this country “…didn’t want a strong, powerful, centralized government.”

“They didn’t believe in such things as a Pledge of Allegiance or a national anthem. They didn’t think in those terms. They thought in terms of freedom, not allegiance to the government or to the nation.”

Why not cancel the National Anthem and militarized pageantry at sporting events?
