In the News: World War II veteran finally receives his high school diploma nearly 80 years later
“Henry’s dedication to his family, community and country is what Superintendent Dr. Shaun Nelms says they’re trying to teach the students as East High.”
“He brings so much to our school and to our students about perseverance and pushing through and never giving up on your dreams,” said Dr. Nelms.
WWII ended in 1945.
Yes, Dr. Nelms, great lesson for the rest of your students- go ahead and blow off getting your diploma. Looks like it wasn’t really relevant to his success since he was able to earn a two year degree- no high school diploma required.
Wonder what he and other WWII veterans think about failed wars that never end?
