Columbus never set foot on what is now the 50 states and I’m not here to defend the holiday- just wondering- are school children taught that some spirit of adventure is connected with Columbus Day?

“Trick-or-treating will be restricted to this day and times only in these communities.”
Stop thinking for yourself.

Controlling Halloween-
Lake County, Illinois:
“Trick-or-treating in the Village of Gurnee will be held on Sunday, October 30th from 2pm-5pm.”
Ohio:
If you live in Coshocton- your kids will go out four days prior to Halloween for a grand total of 90 minutes: 10/27 4:00-5:30
In Edison- you get to go on Halloween & you are done for the year, one hour later: 10/31 5:00-6:00
Milwaukee County, WI:
In several locations you will go out the day before Halloween & be done by 4 PM.
Looks like controlling Halloween is mostly an East Coast/Midwest thing.
