Politics is controlled by majority rule.
The majority of voters will align with one of two major political parties.
Both major parties are OK with ongoing, undeclared wars overseas, the drug war racket, & a Dept. of Homeland Security that can’t keep heroin out of the US.
Wars-
Winding down because US officials have declared victory and are ready to get out of the undeclared wars business- or leaving because host governments take up the welcome mat?
US not welcome to stay in Iraq
US not welcome to stay in Afghanistan
Marijuana-
Take a look at the first states to approve medical marijuana. These states authorized medical use of marijuana based on voter initiatives-not action taken by elected officials. Ditto for both states that have said yes to recreational use of marijuana.
Is there anything written into a state or national party platform by either of our major political parties indicating they are interested in marijuana legalization or ending The Drug War?
It took a constitutional amendment to prohibit the sale of a glass of wine-why no constitutional amendment to authorize a federal war on drugs, drug czar, prohibition of marijuana, etc.

Heroin traffickers are frequently successful at what they do. If terrorists were just as interested in entering the US- it appears that federal departments and agencies would have no way to stop them.
