Is The Surveillance State Effective?

The surveillance society, fusion centers, war on terror crime fighting tactics, license plate scanners, monitoring of e-mails, text messages, and social media sites, tracking of cell phones, use of drones, etc. only works to catch terrorists before they strike?

The people who run the surveillance state decide who fits into the terrorist category. When people who are not terrorists are not stopped- it does not count against the track record of attempting to prevent all major terror strikes after 911.

No matter how advanced the surveillance state becomes- it doesn’t seem to be able to prevent the sorts of crimes that concern communities across America.

Heroin-

Heroin traffickers are frequently successful at what they do. If terrorists were just as interested in entering the US- it appears that federal departments and agencies would have no way to stop them.

My take- terrorists aren’t trying very hard to disrupt the American way of life. If terrorists were trying just as hard as bank robbers and heroin traffickers- we’d be hearing about it more frequently.
