Metro Transit to unveil future safety partitions for bus drivers

“In March, the King County Council approved the formation of a new task force aimed at improving safety measures on public transit.”
“The task force came on the heels of a string of violent incidents on buses, including the stabbing death of Metro driver Shawn Yim. Yim was killed while on his route in Seattle’s University District on Dec. 18, 2024.”

Public lands closed to the public June 4th, then reopened June 8th:
The U.S. Forest Service overseeing the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest issued a forest closure on June 4 for the area where the girls were found. They rescinded the closure on June 8.
“Searches have spanned forested areas, the river, and many structures in the area Decker was last known to be in, the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office said.”
