WA fish ladder hit by copper thieves, disrupting ecosystem and economy
“A vital lifeline for local salmon and steelhead populations, the Granite Falls Fish Ladder is out of service following a series of copper wire thefts that began in early October 2024.”

More than 8 weeks after the thefts began, part of the report seems to blame the criminals for not considering how much damage they were doing.

Ascribing critical thinking skills to someone who’s made extremely bad choices in life. Sounds like officials coddling criminals which is why we’re here at this point.

Coordination with the local sheriff, impassable gates, razor wire fences, personnel assigned to stand watch, alarm systems, security cameras, key card access systems, etc.
