Welcome Home Troops

Thanks for risking your ass in Iraq & Afghanistan- working to keep bad people from coming here to do bad things.

In the news:

I-Team Exclusive: Inside Coachella Valley raid Operation ‘Narco Navigator’

Always reported as a big success

The story is always reported as a big success when federal agents swing into action after large amounts of meth & heroin move past strict post 911 security protocols and federal agents manning a $40.6 billion US Dept. of Homeland Security- then, on into local communities.

Press Release-Style News Reporting

Love to see newspeople go off script and ask if big drug busts like this one have ever caused any shortage of cartel-sourced heroin, cocaine or meth anywhere in the US.

“The DEA operation was assisted by personnel from the following agencies: United States Border Patrol; the Palm Springs Police Department; the Palm Springs Fire Department; the Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force; the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department; U.S. Customs and Border Protection; the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Marshal’s Service; the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation; the California Highway Patrol; the Riverside County District Attorney’s Gang Impact Team; and the Nebraska State Patrol.”

Newspeople play the role of law enforcement agency public affairs staff

The big success theme is preserved by newspeople who ask zero questions. We’ll ask a few of our own questions here.

What was happening at border crossing inspections during the two years these folks were under investigation? Do the good guys who made the local busts notify the good guys at the border about the weak links in their process?

Were federal authorities at the border notified of this ongoing investigation?

Are passports/enhanced/Real IDs effective in keeping cartel-sourced heroin and meth out of the US?

Standard driver’s licenses have not been accepted at the border since 2009.

Homeland Security agents at the border have almost unlimited authority to screen, question, detain, and inspect vehicles. What steps are being taken to address the weak links that allow cartels to move product into the US?

Each year, at the Super Bowl, the US Dept. of Homeland Security promotes their own image Re: preventing criminal activity. Why do these impressive capabilities fail to keep meth and heroin trafficking cartels from moving product into the US?

A Wall?

DEA:

“Hard drugs—cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and now fentanyl—are usually brought in via concealed compartments in passenger vehicles and trucks, Coleman said.”

Trump’s wall won’t stop heroin from coming into the US

As the DEA concluded in 2015, drug traffickers “transport the bulk of their goods over the Southwest Border through ports of entry (POEs) using passenger vehicles or tractor trailers.”

When additional restrictions are placed on prescription drugs- what will prevent heroin-trafficking cartels from moving more product into local communities?

Snohomish County:

2018

8 people a day overdose on opioids in Snohomish County after tightening of prescription rules: survey

“…may be due to doctors observing tighter guidelines on opioid prescriptions, leading their patients to turn to heroin or to illegal opioid vendors.”

A Racket?

2015

Local law enforcement agencies may benefit when the US Dept. of Homeland Security fails to keep heroin out of the US-

Seattle media: Heroin busts could finance police construction in Snohomish

Homeland Security Vote of Confidence:

Report: Montana meth use up 375 percent from 2011-2017

TPD: Meth Produced In OK Labs Being Replaced By Mexican Drug Cartels

“Cartels identify need, and they know there’s a need for methamphetamine here because of the addiction rate in Oklahoma,” said Capt. Wolmershauser.

Special Report: Crystal Comeback

“Meth production in Mexico is making it easier for drug cartels to expand their markets, allowing for deeper penetration into nearby cities like Louisville and Nashville.”
