More than 60 pounds of cocaine and heroin gets past the US Dept. of Homeland Security and into the Baltimore area.

Video: Snohomish County not booking some drug addicts into jail

“Late last year Sheriff Ty Trenary decided to stop booking non-violent misdemeanor offenders into the jail if they have serious drug problems. Faced with mounting criticism over 13 deaths at the jail in the past five years and an epidemic of heroin use, the sheriff decided the jail isn’t equipped to handle so many hardcore addicts.”

As always- the story comes with zero reporting or questions from newspeople about why the proud War on Terror is unable to keep heroin out of the US.

Homeland Security Vote of Confidence:

“Doug James, the Drug Enforcement Administration special agent in charge of the Seattle division, said the Mexican drug cartels are supplying the heroin. James said western Washington might as well be the backyard for three Mexican drug cartels. He said they grow the poppy and process it into heroin in Mexico, then they zip it right up I-5 using smartphone apps to communicate.”

Question for newspeople:

What role do 1,200-horsepower Border Patrol Interceptor boats play in keeping heroin away from Puget Sound?

2011-

“… their main interaction with the boating public: Boarding boats and checking for ID, getting a “vibe,” as Jeff P. called it, for what’s up.”

2013-

Heroin epidemic gripping Port Angeles

Newspeople,

Why did the Blaine Sector Weekly US Border Patrol blotter go extinct?

When is the last time these folks made an arrest of any kind?

Any arrests connected to the US/Canada border?
